Jack Kabangu

Self-taught Danish-Zambian artist Jack Kabangu (b. 1996) creates expressive paintings that fuse his African heritage with a distinctly contemporary sensibility. His artistic language is characterized by vibrant color palettes, energetic lines, and a fluid interplay between figuration and abstraction. Drawing inspiration from Abstract Expressionism, graffiti, and urban culture, Kabangu’s work radiates spontaneity and emotional intensity.

 

Kabangu often experiments with unconventional techniques — painting with his fingers, spatulas, and layered textures — to capture a sense of movement and raw emotion.
