My Story
Maurizio Cattelan is a famous Italian artist, born in Padua in 1960, known for his funny and ironic artwork that challenges our ideas about modern values. Since the early 1990s, his work has gained worldwide recognition for making people think and question what is considered acceptable or true in today's society.
Cattelan uses symbols that carry deep, complex meanings, and his art doesn't take a clear moral or political stance. In 2011, when a major exhibition of his work opened at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, Cattelan announced that he was retiring from the art world. However, after five years away, he returned with a new, site-specific piece displayed at the same museum.
